Our small, 44-bed center is dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized skilled care round the clock. We take pride in offering onsite rehabilitation services, tailored to help our residents regain their independence and return to their homes with renewed confidence.
Our intimate size allows us to foster a warm and home-like atmosphere, where our staff can truly get to know each resident and their families. Building strong connections enables us to deliver the highest quality care and ensures that our residents feel comfortable and supported throughout their stay.
At Whispering Hills, we prioritize the comfort and well-being of our residents. To make their stay more familiar and personal, we encourage loved ones to bring personal items from home, which can help personalize their living spaces.

As pioneers in our field, Whispering Hills Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has been serving the community since 1929, making us the first nursing home in Knox County and the entire state of Ohio. Our Team
Interim Administrator – Mason Bigler
Medical Director – Dr. Timothy Bright
Dr. Timothy Bright, D.O., graduated from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982. After finishing his post-graduate training at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital, he began practicing medicine as a family physician in Johnstown, Ohio. Dr. Bright is board certified in Family Practice and is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association, the Ohio Osteopathic Association and the American College of General Practitioners. Dr. Bright is also a certified medical examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Director of Nursing – Christina Straight
Christina started her career in healthcare as an STNA in 2002 and worked her way up the ladder. She received her RN degree from COTC in 2009. Christina has been the Director of Nursing with Whispering Hills for almost 4 years now and strives to provide the best care she and her nurses can for our residents. In her spare time, Christina enjoys spending time with her children.
Director of Rehabilitation – Christina Albrecht
Christina Albrecht is the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) for Reliant Rehabilitation and proudly serves the patients and staff at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mt. Vernon, OH. Christina brings over 10 years of healthcare experience to the Whispering Hills Care Center. Since 2013 Christina has practiced as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in private practice, skilled nursing, acute care, and in-home health capacities. Lead by an immense passion to improve the day to day functionality of patients as well as a firm commitment to provide a professional and unparalleled patient experience, Christina’s passion emanates through her efforts and her staff of highly skilled therapists.
